Moved to the UK, graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2013. Surrounded by world-class musicians and producers. Hazy late-night jam sessions and underground gigs. Together with housemates, we took Nubiyan Twist from small UK pub venues into a MOBO award nominee — eventually leading to a collaboration with legendary songwriter Nile Rodgers. Brazilian-born. At 21 I decided to move to the UK to study at Leeds College of Music. Shortly after, I joined Nubiyan Twist — a UK jazz and hip-hop outfit. We built the band from the ground up, covering West Holts at Glastonbury, BBC Two's Later... with Jools Holland, and stages across Europe and the Middle East. Nascido no Brasil. Aos 21 anos decidi me mudar para o Reino Unido para estudar no Leeds College of Music. Pouco depois, entrei para o Nubiyan Twist — um grupo britânico de jazz e hip-hop. Construímos a banda do zero, passando pelo West Holts no Glastonbury, pelo BBC Two's Later... with Jools Holland, e palcos por toda a Europa e o Médio Oriente.
Eventually the touring led to live sound engineering. That work is what pulled me into the studio. Com o tempo, as tournées levaram-me para a engenharia de som ao vivo. Foi esse trabalho que me puxou para o estúdio.
In the studio, the work started as a producer and songwriter. The longest-running collaboration is with Blanco White: it began with the Tarifa LP on Nettwerk Music Group and continued across co-writing and co-production on several releases together, across folk, acoustic pop and the more electronic territory he's moved into since. Recording, mixing and mastering came after. No estúdio, o trabalho começou como produtor e compositor. A colaboração mais longa é com o Blanco White: começou com o LP Tarifa pela Nettwerk Music Group e continuou em co-composição e co-produção em vários lançamentos juntos, do folk e pop acústico ao território mais eletrónico que ele foi explorando. A gravação, mixagem e mastering vieram depois.
The mixing and mastering work runs separately — independent artists across House, R&B, Trap and Folk. The goal is the same every time: a mix that translates from earbuds to a club system without sounding like it was engineered to. The sync thread started with Red Bull: three original compositions for their Break the Mould series, placed in DJ culture and action sports content worldwide. That led to a commissioning relationship with Northern Hawk Media and five productions placed through BMG's global library — Brazilian and African-rooted rhythms, arranged for picture rather than the dancefloor. It turns out that's a different skill from writing songs. O fio do sync começou com o Red Bull: três composições originais para a série Break the Mould, colocadas em conteúdo de cultura DJ e desportos de ação a nível mundial. Isso levou a uma relação de comissão com a Northern Hawk Media e cinco produções distribuídas pela biblioteca global da BMG — ritmos de raiz brasileira e africana, arranjados para imagem e não para a pista de dança. Descobriu-se que é uma competência diferente de escrever canções.
I've gone remote in recent years. Currently producing two debut albums — Keyla Sou and Gustavo Manoel — alongside mixing and mastering for independent artists, sync commissions, and a monthly remote music production masterclass. Fui para o trabalho remoto nos últimos anos.
